As expected the feeder creeks are all doing there part to make for some mixed water conditions however the river is fishing.
Boulder River (Big Timber)
Fishing good. RL stones with egg trailing fished deep are best bet. Midges are about but not heavy. Darkly colored streamers along with midge larva and pupa are another good way to go.
Clarity on the lower Madison remains very good and the dry fly action has really picked up with fish on the blue wings. Nymphing is good with stoneflies,
The activity on the creeks has really picked up. Both midges are coming off good and baetis are continuing to increase in numbers.
Yellowstone National Park is closed to fishing until the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend. We will update and provide a fishing report for the park once it opens for the seaon.
